Cd reviews

I am new to this whole reviewing thing so dont expect excellently written reviews. Im just writing what im thinking.

2pac-Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z...

Reviewing a 2pac cd is hard because if it gets less than a 5 star rating you will always have a cult of people in love with tupac saying that the review sucks. This cd was right at the beginning of pacs uprise into the mainstream.

It starts off with the high energy "holler if ya hear me" that shows pac at the most energetic ive heard him in a while. after a skit the next song is "point the finger" that uses a really wierd bass and a funky sort of beat. not as energetic compared to holler if ya hear me. Then another skit is followed by "last words" which featured, at the time, 2 of the west coasts finest Ice-T and Ice Cube. great westcoast beat and all 3 flow their ass off. Next is "souljah's revenge" which is another funky beat thats pretty hot. Then "peep game" which once again has another funky beat. Followed by "strugglin" which doesnt really work for me. The beat jus may be a little outdated but of course pacs lyrics are nice. Then we have "guess whos back" which is really wierd sounding. "representing 93" is next and i feel its a lil too slow for pac. After that is the classic "keep ya head up" i shouldnt have to talk about this song since everyone knows it. next is "strictly 4 my niggaz" which is real hot. Then "the streets r deathrow" this song is real smooth and the piano beat works very well. Then another classic "i get around" which once again needs no description. Followed by "papaz song" which is about his father not being there. Very good song. It closes out with "5 deadly venomz" which is basically a posse cut. still nice though seeing as how treach is on it.

Overall this cd is very good. a few of the beats have become so outdated that they arent very listenenable though

The Roots-Illadelph Halflife

The roots are known as one of hip hops only live bands and this cd showed their skills at near the top of their game. Best tracks are "concerto of the desperado", "what they do" (which was included in the sources top 151 rap songs), "Ital" and many others. Definately buy

Common-Like Water For Chocolate

Possibly one of the greatest cds from common of all time. Not even reviewing this cd would show how great it is. you must go out and buy this cd to appreciate the realness in it. Best songs are "Heat", "The Light", "The 6th Sense", "The Questions", "Payback is a grandmother", and "Thelonious"

Outkast-southerplayalisticadillacmuzik

Time to review a old cd. Outkast-southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. The first cd from one of the souths greatest group.

It starts off with the guitar heavy "myintrotoletuknow" which is a very nice song. Then the single "aint no thang" which is always nice to hear. Then a skit. Then "southernplayalisticadillacmuzik" which in my opinion is a classic song.  Then "the call of da wild" which features the goodie mob. Its a ok song but kinda boring. Then "players ball" which is the song that got them on the radio in the first place. CLASSIC!!! THen "claimin true" which uses the organ on the intro which sounds very very nice. Next is a skit and then "funky ride" which doesnt even have outkast. its only society of soul singing...good track to listen to tho. then another damn skit lol. then "git up git out" which features cee-lo...its a aight song but a lil too long.  Then another skit...way too many skits on the cd. THen "crumblin erb" which is perfect from the beginning all the way to the very end.  Next is "hootie hoo" which is kinda boring because of the beat. Then "D.E.E.P." which is a very wierd song. Then the "players ball reprise" which is basically a remix but theres no rappin.

Overall a great career starting cd
